Health care support worker

We are seeking compassionate, resilient and motivated Health Care Assistants to join our dedicated team. Lyndon House is a nurse led overnight respite service and in this role, you will support children and young people with learning disabilities, complex health needs and / or challenging behaviour. You will assist with day-to-day personal care, implement individual care plans and support therapeutic activities that promote health, independence, dignity, well-being and positive outcomes.
You will contribute to managing complex health needs, including assisting with clinical interventions under supervision and supporting children engage positively in their environment. Building trusting relationships with children, families and colleagues will be a key part of your role.

Previous experience working in learning disability services is preferable but not essential, full training will be provided. We offer a comprehensive induction programme and a commitment to completing the Care Certificate is essential. As the service operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week you will be expected to work shifts across days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
Main duties of the job
Provide safe, compassionate and person-centred care to children with learning disabilities and complex health needs.
Assist with personal care, mobility and daily living activities.
Support clinical interventions under the supervision of a registered nurse.
Help children manage challenging behaviours in a positive and supportive way
Encourage independence and participation in therapeutic and recreational activities
Contribute to household tasks including menu planning, shopping, laundry and cleaning to ensure a safe, comfortable and homely environment
Maintain clear and accurate records and contribute to care planning
Promote dignity respect and safe guarding at all times

Qualifications
* To have / willing to work towards NVQ Level 3 - equivalent / relevant experience
