Job Title: B&W Hybrid CTI & Market R&D Assistant Manager. Function: R&D. Business Unit: Beauty & Wellbeing EU. Location: Port Sunlight UK. Contract Type: Regular, Full-time. Travel: 10-20%. The Beauty & Wellbeing (B&W) Europe Research & Development (R&D) team is recruiting for a B&W Hybrid CTI & Market R&D Assistant Manager based in Port Sunlight. This role focuses on Hair & Skin Care, with the team responsible for launching new technologies, expanding product ranges, developing innovation projects, and maintaining the current portfolio. The successful candidate will craft claims and deploy them externally and will work in both the EU CTI team and the Market R&D Team.
The winning candidate will also be part of the Social First team that connects with consumers using scientific content on social media platforms, driving science engagement on platforms such as Instagram and TikTok, focusing on products and technologies. As part of the Market R&D Team you will be one of the faces of R&D internally and externally, requiring excellent communication skills to tailor R&D content to diverse audiences including Press, Trade, Influencers, Beauty Advisors, and to be comfortable Live-Selling, on TV, and on podcasts. Travel is mostly within the UK. You will partner with Brand, Regulatory, Legal and other R&D functions to support technical delivery of Beauty & Wellbeing innovation and renovation projects across European markets. As a member of the EU CTI team you will deliver consumer technical insights and claims to support European business growth, translating consumer needs into technical targets and clear, competitive claims for local markets, liaising between Local and Global R&D, Legal, Regulatory, and Marketing teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Reviewing claims and evaluating risks with legal and regulatory.
* Influencing and educating customers, consumers and business partners on products and technologies.
* Help to create scientific content and demos to explain superior technologies.
* Translate technical product benefits and technologies into consumer language and present them to influence purchasing decisions.
* Develop and execute customer and consumer oriented technical communications and support PR and media activities as required.
* Monitor local market dynamics including competitor launches and activities.
* Act as the link between local business and regional/global R&D teams, sharing expert knowledge of local markets.
* Execute compliance requirements for new or relaunched products according to Unilever policies and local legislation, including artwork approval and product notifications.
* Provide ideas for product demonstrations preferred by local consumers/customers to the global team.
* Consolidate local feedback and requirements to the global CTI team.
* Manage technical support in challenge cases.
* Collaborate on claim generation for European countries.

Requirements
* Beauty products are your passion.
* Degree in a relevant scientific/technical discipline.
* Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of related experience.
* Flexible, independent, proactive with strong project management and presentation skills.
* Enjoys communicating with different functions and working in an international team.
* Charismatic and comfortable presenting R&D in an informative and engaging way.
* Team player who can also work autonomously.
* Fluent English.
* Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
* Good understanding of social media; current engagement on Instagram and TikTok.
