Our client, a prominent name in the aerospace sector, are seeking a proactive Buyer to join their Procurement team in Southampton to support and take ownership of supply chains within the Raw Materials and Drawn Parts commodities. Role: Buyer Duration: 6-month contract Pay: £25-30 p/hr (Inside IR35) Location: Southampton (Fully onsite)As a Buyer, you will be responsible for managing day‑to‑day purchasing activities, ensuring optimal supply performance, and maintaining accurate system data. You'll own your commodity area, working closely with suppliers to stabilise and improve delivery, resolve supply issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives within the business. Key Responsibilities: Manage your allocated supplier portfolio, ensuring consistent material availability aligned with MRP demand. Lead supplier communication, holding regular reviews to drive performance and escalate risks when required. Build strong relationships with key suppliers to stabilise the supply chain and support long‑term improvement. Raise, manage, and monitor purchase orders in line with MRP requirements.
