This is a hands-on Planning & Performance Analyst role for an experienced analyst who enjoys turning complex data into insight that drives real commercial and operational decisions. You will own analysis end-to-end, working closely with finance, operations and senior leadership to improve performance, profitability and long-term planning. The Role As a Planning & Performance Analyst, you will support the business by delivering high-quality commercial and operational insight using Power BI, Excel and data modelling techniques. You will be responsible for understanding how the business operates, translating business questions into analysis, and presenting clear, actionable recommendations. This is not a junior or reporting-only role. You will be hands-on, visible, and influential. Key Responsibilities Deliver commercial and operational performance analysis to support decision-making Build, maintain and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports Clean, transform and model data from multiple systems and sources Analyse trends, variances and drivers of performance Develop forecasting, planning and scenario models Produce regular performance reporting and ad-hoc analysis Translate complex data into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders Support continuous improvement and performance optimisation initiatives Work with IT and data owners to improve data quality and reporting accuracy Skills & Experience Required Essential: 3 years experience in a Planning Analyst, Performance Analyst, Commercial Analyst or BI Analyst role Strong Power BI experience (data modelling, DAX, reporting) Advanced Excel skills Experience analysing large and complex datasets Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving skills Confident communication skills with senior and non-technical stakeholders Desirable: SQL or similar data/query language Forecasting or financial modelling experience Experience in energy, infrastructure, utilities, manufacturing or asset-heavy environments Whats In It For You Senior, influential analytics role with real ownership £50,000 £55,000 salary (dependent on experience) Hybrid working (2 days per week in the Doncaster office) 25 days holiday 8 bank holidays, rising to 30 days after 5 years (with buy and sell options) Enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption leave Employee Ownership Scheme share in the success of the business Medicash health plan (optical, dental, physio cashback, gym discounts, 24/7 GP) Life insurance (4x salary) Pension matched up to 5% Ongoing training, accredited courses, secondments and study support Location Doncaster, South Yorkshire Easily commutable from Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley, Worksop and surrounding areas.
