Overview
As the departmental supervisor, you will be responsible for a small team of machine operators working a rotational two shift pattern. You will organize and deploy available resources to ensure daily operational requirements are achieved, whilst monitoring and recording departmental performance metrics to enable improvement strategies to be exercised.
Responsibilities
* Prepares, manages, and assigns daily work schedules in accordance with customer and business supply plans
* Mentors and manages the training and development of machine operatives to ensure compliance of defined processes
* Manages departmental time and attendance system (Kronos) and daily, weekly, and monthly production / quality reports
* Supports continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to achieve cost out, quality and business priorities
* Set up all departmental machinery to commence daily production requirements. Control and adjust machine settings where required
* Identifies need for and performs rudimentary machine maintenance and minor repairs
* Show a competency towards general fault-finding
* Ensure production components adhere to company quality specifications
* Undertake training necessary for development as agreed with Team Leader/Supervisor
* Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed
Qualifications
Secondary (GCSE)
Skills
Supervisory experience is preferable. Training will be given in hard areas. Machine experienced, computer literate, MRP experienced, knowledge of Lean principles (TPM, SUR, OEE), excellent communication skills, able to work independently or as a team
