Med/Surg RN Job Details Location: Rochelle Park, NJ 07662 (Greater New York City area)
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour night shifts (3 shifts/week)
Hours per Week: 36
Employment Type: Travel Nurse, On-Site
Start Date: November 10, 2025
Estimated Weekly Salary: $1740 - $1860
Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (New Jersey or compact state)
BLS Certification (required before first shift)
ACLS Certification (required before first shift)
Minimum 2 years of recent bedside clinical experience as a Med/Surg RN
At least 1 year of ICU or acute care experience preferred
Strong communication, clinical, and teamwork skills
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities Perform comprehensive nursing assessments for all medical-surgical patients within 8 hours of admission
Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record
Provide direct patient care and participate in patient rehabilitation programs using the nursing process
Initiate discharge planning and patient education from day of admission
Communicate changes in patient status to the healthcare team to ensure continuity and patient safety
Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees
Promote a safe environment by adhering to hospital safety policies and procedures
Contribute to a positive team environment and participate in unit team-building activities
Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation
