Job Description:
The Role
KPMG’s Energy and Natural Resources (“ENR”) tax practice covers Oil and Gas, Mining, Power and Utilities (including renewables), and Chemicals. Our clients are facing unprecedented change with the energy transition and fiscal uncertainty, leading to significant growth in our ENR tax and legal practice.
Our clients include some of the largest global ENR companies, both UK-based and inbound groups. Our work spans deal advisory support, international and domestic tax advice, and opportunities to work across these areas.
Our Deal Advisory Tax services include advising on the entire deal spectrum, such as vendor assistance, refinancing, due diligence, buy-side structuring, and more. We focus on understanding historical tax issues and structuring transactions to maximize value, often involving multiple countries and tax regimes.
In tax advisory, we support clients with business and fiscal change, including new jurisdiction entry, new business development, reorganizations, refinancing, leasing, windfall taxes, and global fiscal changes like BEPS 2.0 Pillar 2.

* Support in pursuing new opportunities, including proposals and pitches.
* Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
* Act as a key point of contact for clients, legal advisers, and KPMG teams to ensure effective delivery.
* Coach and develop colleagues, collaborate with peers, and pursue continuous learning.
* Prepare and oversee detailed technical advice on UK and international tax issues.
* Analyze tax-related documents and data, highlighting key issues and their commercial impact.
* Collaborate with UK and overseas tax specialists, critically analyzing their input.
* Stay updated on UK and OECD tax developments.
* Understand financial models from a tax perspective.
* Contribute to thought leadership.
The Person
* Qualified CTA, ACA/CA, or equivalent.
* Enthusiastic with a keen interest in transactions.
* Experience in the ENR sector is an advantage but not mandatory; strong interest and willingness to learn are essential.
* Good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
* Strong UK corporate tax knowledge.
* Analytical, curious, and able to provide commercial advice.
* Team player with good workload management skills.
* Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
