Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Cardiac Physiologist to join our team and provide excellent care to patients at Addenbrooke's Hospital and at the Community Diagnostic Centre. This is primarily an echo position; the post holder will be involved in all aspects of the non-invasive Cardiology Department. The department is BSE accredited and provides adult TTE, TOE, DSE, ESE, contrast and bubble echo procedures. There are opportunities for continuous professional development alongside weekly group teaching and echo-discussion sessions. Applicants should hold a BSc Clinical Physiology or equivalent and will be supported in achieving adult TTE BSE accreditation (or European equivalent). We welcome applicants post ETP/STP.
Responsibilities
* Perform and report transthoracic echocardiograms to BSE standards for both inpatient and outpatient work.
* Lead and report exercise stress tests.
* Report ambulatory and 12-lead ECGs.
* Provide a range of support to the wider Cardiology team as required.
* Engage in all aspects of the Cardiology Department and contribute to non-invasive services as part of personal development.
* Attend and benefit from training sessions to complete and maintain BSE accreditation.
* Involve themselves in non-invasive Cardiology services such as transesophageal echocardiography, exercise and dobutamine stress echocardiography, contrast, bubble and desynchrony studies as part of the development plan.
* Undertake research and audit as part of the role, with protected time each week to do so.
* Remain professional at all times, liaise with other clinical teams, and maintain good public relations with patients and other stakeholders.
* Contribute to personal development plans and appraisal processes, including opportunities to develop skills across the Cardiology Department.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Hold BSc Clinical Physiology or equivalent.
* Post‑holder will be supported in achieving adult TTE BSE accreditation (or European equivalent).
* Ideal candidates will have passed their theory BSE exam and aim to accredit fully within the next 6 months.
