Location: Inverness – 15–17 Henderson Road
Hours: 37.5 per week
Reporting to: Head of Operations / Operations Director
Working in Partnership with: Group Logistics Manager
At MacGregor Industrial Supplies, we don't just move stock — we move the business forward.
We're looking for a driven, commercially aware Warehouse Operations Manager (CPC Qualified) to take ownership of our end-to-end warehouse performance and play a critical role in aligning warehouse execution with transport and logistics strategy.
This is a senior operational role for someone who thrives on accountability, standards, and continuous improvement.
The Opportunity
You will lead all warehouse operations — Goods In, storage, picking, dispatch, and stock integrity — ensuring accuracy, efficiency, safety, and readiness at all times.
Holding a valid CPC, you'll act as the operational counterpart to our Group Logistics Manager, ensuring seamless coordination between warehouse and fleet operations, protecting compliance, improving vehicle turnaround, and supporting OTIF performance.
If you're ready to lead from the front and build a high-performing, accountable warehouse culture — we want to hear from you.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Warehouse Operations Leadership
Lead day-to-day warehouse operations (Goods In, putaway, picking, packing, dispatch).
Optimise layout, storage methods, and workflow efficiency.
Ensure orders are picked accurately and dispatched on time.
Manage seasonal volume and space planning proactively.
Drive housekeeping and damage-prevention standards.
Success looks like:
Consistent OTIF performance
Reduced picking errors and rework
Capacity aligned to demand
Stock Control & Inventory Integrity
Hold operational ownership of warehouse stock accuracy.
Ensure system discipline at Goods In.
Prevent negative stock, unshipped lines, and location errors.
Support inter-branch stock movements.
Success looks like:
Improved stock accuracy
Reduced discrepancies
Audit readiness at all times
Transport & Logistics Integration (CPC Essential)
Act as warehouse lead interface to the Group Logistics Manager.
Ensure loads are picked, staged, and released in line with route plans.
Support driver hours compliance through warehouse readiness.
Reduce delivery delays caused by warehouse issues.
Provide operational continuity where required.
Success looks like:
Faster vehicle turnaround
Reduced failed deliveries
Strong operational alignment
People Leadership
Lead Warehouse Team Leaders and supervisors.
Drive performance through coaching, 1:1s and PDPs.
Manage rotas, absence, and workforce planning.
Embed accountability and standards.
Build succession plans for Team Leader roles.
Success looks like:
Improved engagement and retention
Reduced absence and performance issues
Clear development pathways
Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure full H&S compliance (PUWER, manual handling, safe systems of work).
Investigate incidents and implement corrective action.
Maintain audit-ready standards at all times.
Continuous Improvement
Track KPIs (accuracy, productivity, backlog, OTIF).
Identify inefficiencies and lead measurable improvements.
Collaborate cross-functionally to improve cost-to-serve and customer experience.
What We're Looking For
Proven warehouse operations management experience.
Strong stock control and inventory understanding.
Valid CPC (essential).
Experience working alongside transport/logistics leadership.
Confident people leader who builds accountability.
Strong WMS/ERP and data-driven mindset.
Excellent operational judgement.
Forklift licence desirable (training provided if required).
