Collect and collate information as directed by the Senior Medical Secretary and/or Administration Manager.
Act on own initiative to prioritise and plan workload to meet service level agreements and key performance indicators. Reflect on and improve own performance, supporting change management, procedures, and service development.
Adhere to standard operating procedures and protocols. Advise and support colleagues, making judgements based on experience and broad skill base related to practice.
Monitor and review patient forms, details, and pending actions. Chase outstanding responses and information. Provide information and advice to patients and relatives about admissions and appointments.
Capture and transmit information using electronic communication media within agreed protocols and standard procedures, working autonomously.
Maintain accurate input and data quality in patient administration systems.
The NWCTC seeks an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our team of Medical Secretaries. The post holder will provide comprehensive secretarial support, demonstrating empathy, confidentiality, and courtesy in dealings with staff, patients, carers, relatives, and visitors, promoting a positive environment daily.
The ideal candidate will have a typing qualification or equivalent experience, good knowledge of IT packages (including WPAS/iFit/WCP/EPOC/EPRO), and medical terminology. Responsibilities include typing clinical letters, distributing/sorting mail, filing, and maintaining communication channels with GPs, Consultants, Nurses, and other hospital departments. The ability to communicate effectively by phone, email, and in writing, and to book appointments, meetings, and training events is essential. During the absence of senior medical secretaries, you will provide cover, including additional duties as appropriate. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
