CIBC Capital Markets aims to be the premier client-focused wholesale bank based in Canada. Our division offers a comprehensive range of credit, capital markets, investment banking, merchant banking, and research products and services to government, institutional, corporate, and retail clients in Canada and key global markets.
JOB PURPOSE
The Institutional Structuring Group, part of CIBC’s Global Markets, seeks an Executive Director to support and grow Fund Derivatives and Quantitative Investment Strategies for Financial Institutions and Retail clients through innovative cross-asset derivative solutions. Experience in fund-based structured products, smart beta, and risk premia indices is essential. This role offers growth opportunities in Capital Markets expertise.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Assist the Structuring Group with daily activities, including:
* Generating Fund Derivatives and Quantitative Investment Strategy ideas for Financial Institutions.
* Responding efficiently to derivative pricing requests from sales and clients.
* Performing market analysis and back-testing for new product ideas.
* Creating marketing materials and developing client relationships.
* Collaborating with stakeholders within Capital Markets.
1. Develop product knowledge through self-directed learning, share insights with management, and participate in continuous learning sessions.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
* Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, or related fields, with 7+ years’ experience in Financial Market derivatives.
* Strong understanding of current financial markets and transactions.
* Quick learner who can add value rapidly.
* Confident in a fast-paced environment; excellent interpersonal and team skills.
* Proficiency in Python, SQL, C# is advantageous.
* Ability to work independently and resolve problems effectively.
