Scope
The Project Manager (PM1) will work within Akkodis’s Aerospace & Defence business unit, supporting engineering projects. The role involves managing small-to-medium-sized projects and supporting senior project management on larger initiatives. This is a client-facing role with a minimum of three days in the office to ensure robust stakeholder engagement.
Role
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing projects from initiation to closure, ensuring deliverables are met on time, within scope, and budget. You will demonstrate leadership in identifying areas for improvement, handling challenges calmly, and proposing actionable solutions. The role requires an individual comfortable working with some oversight while owning scope and delivering value to stakeholders.
Responsibilities
* Manage projects across their lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
* Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and engagement.
* Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.
* Manage & control the project costs & financial performance, including approval of Timesheet
* Facilitate stakeholder meetings to align project goals and address concerns proactively.
* Conduct root cause analysis for issues and propose corrective actions.
* Oversee project scope, risks, and changes, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
* Prepare and present status reports to clients and internal leadership.
* Promote best practices in project management and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Required Experience
* 2 to 4 years of experience in project management, project support, or project coordination.
* Proven experience managing projects in aerospace, defence, in Engineering or Software environments.
* Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
* Client-facing experience with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
* Demonstrated ability to stay calm under pressure and manage negative feedback constructively.

* Ability to work independently with some oversight.
* Root cause analysis and continuous improvement mindset.
* Able to attain UK Security Clearance
Required Education
* A recognised project management certification, such as CAPM, Prince2, or APM, is preferred.
* Demonstrable understanding of both Agile and Waterfall delivery frameworks.
