Responsibilities

:
1. Profitably manage and develop a significant Accident & Health and Contingency Treaty Reinsurance portfolio. An ability to lead and influence terms is paramount both on a Proportional and Excess of Loss basis. The role requires a blend of both technical expertise and experienced relationship management and the candidate should be equallyfortable liaising with actuarial colleagues or meeting senior representatives of clients and brokers.
2. Work with our colleagues across other business units to opine and advise on Accident & Health and Contingency opportunities throughout the organisation.
3. To access the suitability of risks under the supervision of the CUO giving consideration to cycle management, exposure management and above all profitability.
4. To maintain a focus on building and strengthening Everest's relationships with cedingpanies and brokers.
5. To serve as the primary link with the Actuarial team on both pricing and reserving matters.
6. Manage accumulations across the group, reporting appropriately and in a timely fashion to the London Executivemittee and Head Office.
7. Contribute to underwriting meetings, quarterly business reviews, business planning and annual strategy meetings.
8. Travel and audit as appropriate.
9. Assist in managing, training and mentoring underwriting Assistants and junior colleagues.

Requirements
10. Experience underwriting A&H and Contingency business in the London market, either direct or reinsurance
11. Ambitious mind set
12. Strong broker relationships
13. Preferably ACII qualified
