Experience Scotland's Wild is a growing, award-winning small-group tour operator delivering immersive tours across Scotland. We are strengthening our operational structure as we continue to grow and are now seeking a Guide Operations Manager to lead and manage our guiding team.
The Role
This is an operational leadership role responsible for the day-to-day management, performance, and scheduling of our guiding team. The role is primarily based in Edinburgh, with travel to Glasgow when operationally required.
You will oversee a team of approximately 14–25 guides (season dependent), including full-time, part-time, and seasonal employees.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and lead a team of 14–25 guides.
* Act as the main operational contact for guide-related matters.
* Conduct structured 1-2-1 meetings and maintain documentation.
* Collaborate with the Head of Operations & Fleet to create and maintain the seasonal rota.
* Ensure adherence to company health and safety procedures and promote a strong safety-first culture.
* Manage sickness, holiday approvals, and emergency cover.
* Ensure compliance with working time regulations.
* Monitor performance, punctuality, and tour standards.
* Review guest feedback and implement improvements.
* Maintain accurate staff records and support HR processes.
* Approve timesheets and expenses within delegated authority.
* Review and improve rota systems and operational processes.
What We're Looking For
* Experience managing seasonal or shift-based teams.
* Strong organisational and rota management skills.
* Confident handling HR and performance conversations.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced tourism environment.
* Proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
* Experience using rota software (Deputy preferred).
* Willingness to travel to Glasgow when required.
