Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and proactive supervisor for a busy seafood processing facility to oversee the Back Shift and Night Shift operations. The successful candidate will organise and lead both shift teams, ensure fresh product is handled in accordance with industry standards, maintain hygiene and safety requirements, and ensure all production areas and materials are fully prepared for the next working day.
Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise the backshift and night shift teams, ensuring allocated tasks are completed
* Organise and plan work to ensure the factory is fully prepared for the morning production shift
* Supervise daily production area cleaning processes and maintain hygiene standards
* Manage fresh product intake, ensuring correct handling, storage, and traceability
* Oversee washing, weighing, basketing, and storage of product ready for production
* Monitor and maintain food safety, quality, and health and safety standards
* Complete required record keeping, administration, and production documentation
* Work closely with day shift teams to ensure effective communication and continuity of operations
* Identify and resolve operational issues to maintain workflow and efficiency
* Support continuous improvement and adherence to company procedures
Skills & Attributes
* Previous supervisory experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment is preferred
* Experience managing teams in a fast-paced production setting
* Understanding of basic hygiene standards and willingness to follow strict food safety procedures
* Reliable, organised, and confident working as part of a team
* Hands-on supervisory approach with willingness to support operational tasks
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Good punctuality, attendance, and time management
* Willingness to learn, develop, and support business needs
* Ability to travel to the site in Amble, Northumberland
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
