Job Purpose:
PEACETIME is a collaborative European funded cross-border initiative aimed at tackling the adverse effects of obesity-related chronic diseases on individuals, healthcare systems, and society. The project seeks to promote equitable access to care for individuals with obesity complicated by type 2 diabetes (OBDM) through an innovative integrated clinical service delivered within primary care and community settings. Specifically, the new service will involve the delivery of a combination of nutrition, psychological, physical activity and pharmacological therapies using innovative health coaching methods supported by technology and telemedicine. A comprehensive evaluation of the new service is planned along with a series of distinct, but inter-related, research sub-projects, which, together, will help generate novel insights into obesity management, shaping the future care of individuals with OBDM.
This specific role will focus on supporting the delivery of two research sub-projects aimed at (i) qualitatively evaluating the overall intervention and (ii) assessing the impact of a chrononutrition intervention in a sub-population of patients. These research sub-projects will be conducted across the geographical area of PEACETIME (Derry~Londonderry, Donegal, Sligo) and therefore, the postholder would be expected to undertake the necessary travel to fulfil the requirements of the role.
