Quarryfoot Practice are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team. We are located in Bonnyrigg Health Centre, Midlothian, just a short commute from Edinburgh, serving a diverse patient population of around 5400.
We are a forward thinking and evolving practice, continually striving to make a difference for our patients. We have a clinical team of 2 GP partners and 3 salaried GPs, 1 ANP, 1 NP along with 1 Practice Nurse. This is backed up by a team of CTAC nurses/Phlebotomist, as well as physiotherapists, Primary Care Mental Health Nurse, pharmacist and a pharmacist technician. We also have our own HCAs and admin team, who help to coordinate admin and patient queries.
The practice works together as a team and is committed to being an excellent place to work. The clinical staff meet at 11.30am every morning to have a tea or coffee together.
The practice systems we use are EMIS and Docman.
About the Role
This is a permanent position offering 20 hours per week working Monday and Wednesday 9am-1pm, Thursday and Friday 9am-3pm, although there maybe some flexibility on days. The successful candidate will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality nursing care, including chronic disease management, cervical screening and the promotion of better health of our patients.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage long-term conditions such as diabetes, asthma, and hypertension
2. Provide cervical screening and sexual health services
3. Deliver lifestyle advice and health promotion
4. Support emergency care and contribute to clinical audits
5. Work collaboratively with the wider practice team
