Job Description
Britain’s Got Startups - Executive Assistant
Office-based in Harrogate with national travel
6-month fixed-term employed role | £28,000 pro rata
Start: February 2026
Britain’s Got Startups (BGS) is a fast-growing, founder-led platform connecting ambitious startups with investors, partners, and opportunities across the UK.
We’re looking for a highly organised, proactive Executive Assistant to support the BGS team during a busy growth phase. This is a hands-on, trusted role where you’ll be closely involved in the day-to-day running of the business, helping keep everything organised, prioritised, and moving forward.
This is a full-time, employed, 6-month fixed-term role running from February to July 2026, with the potential to transition into (at a minimum) a part-time ongoing position after the contract ends (it could be full-time depending on budgets).
The Role
Your core purpose is to support the BGS team by managing organisation, logistics, communication, and priorities, allowing the business to operate smoothly during a high-growth period.
You’ll work closely with the team on a daily basis, supporting both business and ad-hoc personal tasks, and playing a key role in keeping events, meetings, and operations running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing calendars, inboxes, and priorities for the BGS team
* Acting as a first point of organisation and triage
* Preparing meeting notes, reminders, and follow-ups
* Supporting communications with founders, investors, and partners
* Supporting the delivery of Britain’s Got Startups events across the UK
* Booking venues, travel, accommodation, and schedules
* Coordinating logistics before, during, and after events
* Using HubSpot CRM to manage contacts and communications
* Supporting task and project management using ClickUp and Monday.com
* Tracking actions, deadlines, and priorities to ensure nothing is missed
* Providing wider operational and administrative support to the team as required
* Assisting with ad-hoc personal and business-related tasks when needed
What we're looking for
This role will suit someone who is exceptionally organised, detail-focused, and comfortable supporting a small, fast-moving team.
You’ll be proactive, calm under pressure, and confident juggling multiple priorities in a startup environment where no two days look the same.
You’ll ideally have:
* Strong experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
* Experience managing email inboxes and calendars
* Familiarity with CRM and task management tools, or the ability to learn quickly
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* A high level of discretion and professionalism
You must be comfortable working in an office with dogs present — they’re part of the culture.
Location and Working Style
The role is based in Harrogate and will be primarily office-based, with some flexibility for hybrid working when appropriate. This is a full-time role for the duration of the fixed-term contract and national travel is expected, where working away from home will be frequent (2-3 times per month)
Salary and Contract
£28,000 per annum, pro rata
6-month fixed-term employed position
* Potential transition into a part-time ongoing role after July/August
