Position: Instrument Manufacturing Manager
Location: Llanberis, within the Specialty Lab Diagnostics business line at Siemens Healthineers.
This is a great opportunity to support a crucial strategic project in our SLS business line and Llanberis. As an Instrument Manufacturing Manager, you will oversee the production of medical device instruments, ensuring efficient operations, adherence to quality standards, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes. You will need inspirational leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams to achieve production goals. You will deputise for the Head of Instruments as needed. Working hours are from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Key Responsibilities
1. Own production schedules to ensure timely and efficient manufacturing of the IMMULITE XPi and Versacell, along with spare parts provisions.
2. Develop and lead daily, weekly, and monthly manufacturing meetings.
3. Implement manufacturing strategies to optimise efficiency and quality, utilizing Hoshin Kanri.
4. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.
5. Lead and mentor teams to achieve performance and behavioural goals, fostering high-performing teams.
6. Collaborate with design and R&D teams to develop reliable manufacturing processes.
7. Monitor production metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
8. Apply lean manufacturing principles to optimise processes and eliminate waste.
9. Facilitate training programs to enhance lean methodologies among staff.
10. Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions.
11. Prepare and present performance reports and improvement initiatives.
12. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
13. Utilize business systems such as IED, CATSWEB, CERDAAC, SAP, Documentum & Learn4U.
14. Ensure safety, health, and environmental legislation compliance.
Required Skills & Experience
1. Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or related field.
2. At least 5 years in an engineering management role, preferably in medical devices.
3. Leadership experience with teams of around 50+ members.
4. Experience in budget management and performance driving using models like Lencioni.
5. Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma (certification preferred).
6. Proficiency with production management software such as SAP.
