Surveyor
* Job Type: Full-time, 3-4 days onsite
* Location: Rotherham
* Salary: Negotiable based on experience
We are seeking qualified Surveyors to join our dynamic Estates Team, which is focused on developing our Commercial Property Portfolio and maximising the capital and income generation opportunities of Council assets. We have openings in both Strategic/Asset and General Property management. This role is ideal for proactive individuals who are RICS qualified and experienced in handling a range of property/surveying activities.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Conduct rent reviews, lease renewals, and general property management tasks including marketing void properties and managing debts.
* Engage in the acquisition and disposal of property assets.
* Depending on expertise, opportunities exist within the strategic asset management team to conduct property reviews aimed at enhancing revenue savings and capital receipts.
* Provide valuation, estates management, and surveying advice across various departments, promoting the effective use of property assets.
* Support in the negotiation processes for the acquisition and disposal of land and property assets.
* Assist in statutory valuations and support the Council’s accountancy functions with necessary approvals.
* Liaise with other departments to ensure cohesive management of property valuation and surveying tasks.
* Encourage and implement value for money practices and new policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* RICS qualification is highly preferred.
* Experience in rent reviews, lease renewals, and property management.
* Knowledge in the acquisition and disposal of property.
* Capable of providing high-level advisory and technical support across various projects.
* Proficient in managing sensitive and confidential information.
* Strong communication skills, capable of handling complex information exchanges.
* Demonstrated ability to make informed decisions and solve problems effectively.
* Experience in using a range of computer applications including databases, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
