Overview
Health Records is seeking an enthusiastic and organized individual for the role of Health Records Trainer on a fixed‑term contract/secondment for 6 months. The postholder will deliver mandatory and bespoke training in health records processes both within the department and across the Trust, including in‑person sessions on the Trust’s monthly Clinical Induction programmes and via Teams.
Responsibilities
* Deliver the Health Records Awareness Mandatory training to newly appointed Trust staff as part of the Induction Programme.
* Provide training related to current paper‑lite processes, including day‑forward material where case‑notes have been scanned.
* Run an ongoing training programme for existing Health Records users (admin) across the Trust, covering paper‑lite processes for managing records.
* Deliver refresher training in all aspects of Health Records to Health Records staff.
* Monitor the work of the “Culling, Scanning & Case‑note Conversion Clerks” to ensure high competency levels.
* Audit health records tracking, provide feedback to relevant departments, and work with them to formulate action plans.
* Manage access and training for Mediviewer functions such as direct upload and export.
* Support the Health Records Information Manager with digitisation, including liaison with the Trust’s outsourced scanning provider where necessary.
* Attend Trust meetings where relevant.
Required Skills and Experience
Essential experience and competencies include:
* Strong knowledge of Health Records processes and policies.
* Experience delivering training sessions, both in‑person and remote.
* Ability to audit and analyse document management workflows.
* Familiarity with Mediviewer and related digitisation tools.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
