The Vacancy
Keyfix, part of the Keystone Group of companies, specializes in the development of non-combustible masonry accessories, providing complete non-combustible cavity solutions for external masonry facades in projects over 18m+.
The Technical Engineer will ensure the Keyfix team produces commercially and technically accurate quotations and communicates effectively with the team to ensure correct mark-ups in accordance with customer project requirements. The role involves adopting best practices when specifying Keyfix products and exceeding customer expectations through prompt responses, implementing comments, and meeting site delivery dates.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be a key member of our core team.
This role requires championing continuous improvement and developing new growth opportunities, focusing on delivering excellent customer service, maintaining customer relationships, and achieving commercial targets.
Location: Cookstown
Working Hours:
* Monday to Thursday 8.45am-5.00pm and Friday 8.45am-3.30pm — On site
Occasional travel within NI, GB & ROI will be expected to develop relationships, resolve technical issues, and facilitate site installations.
Technical Service:
* Generate consistent quotations and manage amendments for high-rise projects.
* Produce detailed, accurate, and clear production drawings that optimize manufacturing efficiency.
* Provide technical support to engineers, designing non-standard products that balance best practice with cost-effectiveness.
Commercial Service:
* Engage directly with customers (preferably by phone) to ensure high customer satisfaction.
* Coordinate with the production team to arrange orders and call-offs according to customer schedules.
* Facilitate and present CPDs via Teams or in person as needed.
* Maintain communication as the key contact from initial inquiry to order completion.
Technical Expertise Service
* Be approachable and supportive to internal and external customers, understanding that some may need extra assistance.
* Provide outstanding customer service, embodying the Keystone “go through the wall” attitude.
* Support the Contract Sales team with real-time delivery and productivity information.
* Record lead information accurately in the designated format.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
* At least 2 years of experience in a fast-paced construction environment in a similar role.
* Knowledge of construction details and on-site practices.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Experience in customer service and negotiation roles.
* Target-driven, tenacious, and ambitious.
