CNC Mechanical Fitter - Workshop-Based Role
Location: Acton Works | Pay Rate: £39.24 per hour | Start: ASAP
We are working with a leading engineering organisation on behalf of a highly skilled workshop team, who are currently seeking a Mechanical Fitter / CNC operative to join their rolling stock upgrade projects. This is a hands‑on, workshop‑based role in a collaborative and safety‑focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Assemble components and systems following detailed work instructions and assembly drawings
* Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, ruler) accurately
* Apply torque using torque wrenches and follow witness marking procedures
* Operate and maintain machinery and workshop equipment, including overhead cranes (desirable)
* Contribute to a collaborative, high‑performing workshop team
Essential Requirements
* Level 3 Electrical or Mechanical qualification (or equivalent)
* Proven ability to read and follow detailed work instructions and assembly drawings
* Experience using torque wrenches and measuring tools
Desirable Skills / Experience
* Rail or heavy engineering experience
* CNC experience, with programming knowledge considered a plus
* Component assembly and system maintenance
* Experience with overhead cranes and workshop equipment
