Teaching Assistant – Year 3 (Full Time)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15am – 3:30pm
We are looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support learning in Year 3 at our welcoming primary school in central Preston. This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday from 8:15am to 3:30pm, within a supportive and inclusive school environment.
The role involves providing general academic support in the classroom, as well as working with small groups and individual pupils to help them access the curriculum and make progress. You will work closely with the class teacher to support teaching and learning throughout the school day.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting teaching and learning within the Year 3 classroom
* Working with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning
* Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
* Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
* Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
The successful candidate must:
* Have relevant experience working with primary-aged children
* Hold a childcare or Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
* Be patient, reliable, and adaptable
* Have strong communication and teamwork skills
* Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
