Job Overview
We are recruiting a personal assistant to support Zain, a 12‑year‑old boy with Cerebral Palsy and Chronic Lung Disease who uses a wheelchair.
Responsibilities
* Transport Zain safely in a wheelchair‑adapted vehicle.
* Assist with feeding and personal care, including toileting.
* Accompany Zain to local parks, swimming pools, theme parks, football matches and cinema.
* Support Zain in community activities and celebrate family events and religious festivities.
* Maintain a positive, respectful relationship that reflects Zain’s sense of humour and emotional intelligence.
Requirements
* Experience supporting children with disabilities and complex needs.
* Valid UK driving licence and possession of a wheelchair‑adapted vehicle.
* Physical fitness to operate and transport a wheelchair safely.
* Good communication skills and emotional intelligence.
* Working knowledge of the local area and interest in planning enjoyable activities.
Working Hours
6 hours per week, including weekends.
Pay
£13.50 per hour.
Location
Fenham, Newcastle Upon Tyne.
