Solution Architect Location : Windsor, UK (Hybrid 1 day per week onsite) Type : Contract (6 months) | Rate : £500/day (Inside IR35) Start Date : 15 September 2025 About the Role Our client, a leading global organization, is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to play a key role in shaping and delivering scalable, secure, and efficient solutions within a large-scale transformation programme. You will be responsible for defining technology roadmaps, ensuring architectural best practices, and collaborating with stakeholders across business and IT functions. This is a hands-on, strategic role requiring strong architecture expertise, particularly in AWS integration, application hosting, governance, and security roadmaps, with the ability to influence at senior levels and guide implementation teams. Key Responsibilities Define and communicate strategic technology standards, frameworks, principles, and roadmaps across the IT organisation. Analyse the impact of new technologies and assess integration within enterprise IT infrastructure. Partner with Solution Architects, Product Specialists, and Project Managers to ensure technology services align with business objectives. Design and guide the delivery of robust, scalable, and secure solutions in line with architecture best practices. Present and obtain approval for solution designs via the Architecture Review Board. Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and third-party vendors to achieve programme objectives. Conduct system assessments to identify areas for optimisation and continuous improvement. Required Skills & Experience 8 years experience as a Solution Architect (15 years overall IT experience). Strong background in AWS gateway/integration methodologies, APIs, and data migration strategies. Proven experience delivering solution architecture in medium-to-large transformation programmes. Prior experience as a Technical Architect, with a shift towards strategic solution architecture. Expertise in application integration, governance models, security roadmaps, and AWS cloud hosting. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in multi-supplier environments. Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills capable of engaging with senior leadership. Understanding of the Utilities industry is highly desirable. Desirable Experience shaping architecture strategy in regulated or compliance-driven environments.
