Head of Year – Full Time Permanent Contract. Main Scale/UPS/TLR 1.1 (£10,174). Start date: September 2026.
We are looking for an inspirational and enthusiastic leader who has the qualities and desire to be a Head of Year. You will be an aspirational, caring, and compassionate person who embodies the school ethos of ‘kindness, aspiration, perseverance’.
This is an excellent time to be joining the team as we transition from a House system to a Year system. The successful candidate will be pivotal in shaping the new Head of Year role. They will also be an exceptional practitioner in their teaching speciality. The Purbeck School offers a supportive and innovative workplace where young people are at the heart of everything we do. Responsibilities
* Provide outstanding pastoral care and leadership as Head of Year.
* Play a pivotal role in transitioning from a House system to a Year system and shaping the new Head of Year role.
* Remain an exceptional practitioner in the candidate’s teaching specialty.
* Contribute to school improvement and uphold the ethos of the school.
Qualifications and Experience
* Inspirational and enthusiastic leader with commitment to education and student welfare.
* Aspiring, caring, and compassionate, with the school ethos of ‘kindness, aspiration, perseverance’.
* Applications from candidates who specialise in teaching Maths, History or RE will be prioritised.
