Overview
A welcoming primary school in Wavertree is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive in both their learning and personal development. You will be working within the school's SEN provision, providing 1:1 and small group support to children with a range of needs, including Autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate patience, resilience and creativity in supporting pupils to access the curriculum and reach their potential.
Responsibilities
* Deliver targeted support to pupils with SEN, both 1:1 and in small groups
* Support the class teacher in planning and adapting activities to suit individual needs
* Promote positive behaviour and engagement using effective strategies
* Assist in developing pupils' social, emotional and communication skills
* Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals
Qualifications
* Previous experience supporting children with special educational needs
* Strong behaviour management and communication skills
* A nurturing, flexible and patient approach
* Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable
* Ability to work full-time, 8:30am-3:30pm, Monday to Friday
