We are seeking a Principal engineer to join our Liveable Places team in London (Chancery Lane). The successful candidate will be a highly skilled and experienced Principal Designer with a strong background in design management and project management, leading design delivery and implementation of sustainable transport and public realm improvement projects from inception to completion, primarily in London.
Key Responsibilities
* Design Management: Oversee the design process, ensure design work meets high standards and client requirements; manage the design team, coordinate with other departments, and ensure on-time and within-budget delivery.
* Project Management: Plan, schedule, budget, and allocate resources; ensure milestones are met and projects are completed on time and within budget.
* Client Liaison: Act as main point of contact for clients and keep them informed of progress.
* Risk Management: Identify and manage project risks and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
* Quality Assurance: Ensure design work meets quality standards and resolve issues promptly.
* Team Leadership: Lead and motivate the design team to work effectively and efficiently.
What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
* Experience in design management and project management.
* Holder of a relevant professional qualification (IEng or CEng) or close to obtaining a professional qualification.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal; ability to report to senior level.
* Proven track record of successfully leading design projects from inception to completion.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
