We are seeking a self-motivated and organised individual to join our Learning Academy within Children’s Services as a Support Officer for 18.5 hours per week.
In this part time administrative role you will be responsible for providing business support to the Principal Social Worker and our Practice Education team, enabling them to provide a high-quality, cost-effective Workforce Development service to managers and social work professionals working with children, young people and families.
The post holder will support the facilitation and co-ordination of the ASYE (Assessed and Supported Year) programme, social work apprenticeships, and support student placements and practice education. The successful candidate will be responsible for effective organisation and production of resources for meetings and learning events and play a key role in developing marketing and training materials whilst ensuring information sources are up to date and information is of a high quality.
The post holder is expected to deliver a high standard of customer service using effective interpersonal and communication skills including telephone, email and face to face with a customer focussed approach.
We are looking for a candidate with knowledge of working with a range of IT software including Microsoft Office and would be confident liaising with a variety of trainers/providers and learners across our Children’s Services in a friendly and courteous manner.
The post holder will be responsible for maintaining spreadsheets and contributing to reports on a regular and consistent basis, therefore good Excel skills are paramount in addition to a methodical and accurate approach to working. We are looking for a member of the team who has demonstrative administration skills, can be flexible and adaptable, has an ability to prioritise their own workload and is comfortable supporting wider team members on occasion when required.

Skills
Essential:
* Effective interpersonal and communication skills including telephone manner with a customer focused approach to work.
* High degree of accuracy and attention to details within written, oral and numeric work.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member – ability to take initiative.
* Effective organisational skills.
* Proven effective ICT skills.
This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
Knowledge
Essential:
* Experience of working with a range of IT software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, OneNote and Internet Explorer.
Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
* Educated to GCSE O level standard in English and Mathematics at Grade C and above or equivalent.
* Demonstrable experience of providing administrative support.
* Experience of working in a busy office using a range of administrative procedures.
* Experience of dealing with a range of enquiries via telephone, email and face to face.
* Experience of working within a team and on own.
