35 hours per week, includes working some weekends.

We are seeking a kind-hearted, patient, and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to residents living with dementia. You’ll play a vital role in supporting their physical, emotional, and social wellbeing, helping them live with dignity, comfort, and joy in a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide personal care including washing, dressing, toileting, and mobility assistance
2. Support residents with dementia in maintaining routines and engaging in meaningful activities
3. Monitor and report changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition
4. Build trusting relationships with residents, families, and colleagues
5. Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning
6. Promote independence wherever possible, while ensuring safety and comfort
7. Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality, and infection control standards
8. Participate in training and development to enhance dementia care skills

Person Specification:

9. Compassionate and empathetic nature
10. Excellent communication skills
11. Ability to work as part of a team
12. Reliable and flexible

Mayflower Court in Southampton is home to well trained and helpful staff with rooms for up to 72 residents.
