A 'Good' Primary school on the outskirts of Preston, Lancashire are looking for an experienced and approachable Autism specialist Teaching Assistant for a position starting as soon as possible.
Autism (ASD) Specialist Teaching Assistant - near Preston
Responsibilities
* Be an experienced Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant who has worked with young pupils on the Autism spectrum.
* Use a strong understanding of the autism spectrum and how to use specific IEPs to provide effective support to this pupil.
* Keep the pupil focused on their work and be aware of any particular triggers that may cause a behavioural reaction.
* When a reaction occurs, apply a variety of de-escalating techniques to help control the pupil and the situation.
* Approach SEN work with passion, as each day may present different obstacles to overcome.
* Maintain resilience and tenacity to persevere in what can be a challenging role.
* Find the role hugely rewarding by seeing pupil progress under your guidance.
