Job Title: Shunter Driver (HGV Class 1 – ADR)
Salary: £34,840 per year
Hours: 40 hours per week, 14:00–22:00 (afternoon shift)
Employment: Permanent, Full-Time
About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Shunter Driver to join a busy logistics and fleet operations team. This hands-on role is central to ensuring the safe and efficient movement, loading, and preparation of vehicles within a fast-paced operational depot environment.
You will play a key part in keeping fleet operations running smoothly, working closely with the logistics team to ensure vehicles are correctly positioned, loaded, and prepared for daily service requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Fleet Movement & Depot Operations
* Safely bring fleet vehicles in for tipping during shift operations
* Reload vehicles with supply stock as required
* Carry out internal vehicle movements across the depot
* Complete occasional outbound journeys to Stoke Depot
* Support inter-depot fleet transfers and logistics requirements
* Liaise with vehicle hire and maintenance providers attending site
Stock & Documentation Control
* Complete stock movement forms accurately for the Logistics Team Leader
* Ensure correct recording and tracking of vehicle loads
* Maintain accurate records relating to vehicle positioning and movements
* Support effective key management and vehicle security procedures
Safety & Compliance
Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety procedures and site rules
Maintain a strong safety-first approach at all times
Follow correct ADR and hazardous materials handling procedures
Support a compliant and well-organised depot environment
Requirements
Essential Qualifications
* Full UK driving licence
* HGV Class 1 licence
* Valid ADR licence
* Driver CPC qualification
* Counterbalance forklift truck (FLT) licence
* Experience within the hazardous waste or regulated logistics sector
