Locally Employed - Chief Registrar in Medicine
Fixed term for 12 months - October 2026 to October 2027
This role is suited for a medical HST at ST4+ level (ideally, within 24 months of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT). The post is being SUPPORTED by the Royal College of Physicians (RCP and Health Education England Kent Surrey and Sussex (HEEKSS) and has been developed from work of the Future Hospitals Commission.

Main duties of the job
The Supporting Professional Activities will be used for non-clinical administrative duties, audit, research, clinical governance, teaching and training, and reflective practice.
The Trust operates across multiple sites, andcross-site working may be required depending on service needs.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* MB BS or equivalent
* Full Registration with GMC with a licence to practice
* MRCP or equivalent
Training and experience
* Experience in all aspects of General (Internal) Medicine
* Experience in other relevant medical specialities
Admin/managment
* Evidence of participation in staff management
* Understanding of recent initiatives and changes, including Clinical Governance and Appraisal
* Management course and/or qualifications
* Knowledge of the structure of Health Service
Audit/Research/Publications
* Thorough understanding of principles of medical audit
* Understanding of the role of research
* Completion and/or Publication of audit projects
* Experience of clinical research culminating in presentation and publication of original studies, review articles, etc, relevant to speciality
* Ability to lead clinical research project
