Overview
Passionate about the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people? The Mental Health Support Team (MHST) in Suffolk provides early mental health support within education settings. You will be one of the key senior clinicians in this service, working across a range of education settings in East Suffolk (Ipswich). There is an additional vacancy in the West Suffolk team (Bury St Edmunds) – see the relevant advert for details.
We encourage applicants from nursing, social work, occupational therapy, psychotherapy, experienced (two years post-qualified) EMHPs, PWPs, and CWPs. If you have the relevant qualifications, experience and skills in children and adolescent mental health, we encourage you to apply and discuss with us.
Responsibilities
* Provide a high-quality service to children and young people (and their families) experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, through early intervention and timely support.
* Supervise Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) during their training and beyond.
* Directly deliver evidence-based interventions to support children and young people referred to the service.
* Utilise skills and knowledge of CBT and child and adolescent mental health practice.
* Implement whole school/college approaches to mental health through collaboration and coproduction with the school/college community.
Training and development
* Undertake the year-long Postgraduate Certificate in Supervision of Low Intensity CBT with Children & Young People (course delivered by the University of East Anglia, UEA).
* Course structure includes online teaching and six in-person teaching days at UEA in Norwich, with self-directed study and supervised practice in the MHST.
