Renishaw's Additive Manufacturing systems are designed to produce complex parts and components using additive manufacturing (also known as 3D printing) technology. These technologies include laser powder bed fusion (LPBF), which uses a laser to melt and fuse metal powders onto a substrate with instant, ultra-high accuracy, straight from a CAD design. In addition to its Additive Manufacturing systems, Renishaw also offers software and support services to help customers optimise their manufacturing processes and achieve the highest quality results. We're recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to be based in Ireland, ideally based along the M6 / M4 motorway in Ireland connecting the Galway and Dublin areas to join our team. As a Field Service Engineer at Renishaw, you'll ensure a high standard of service and support is provided to every AM customer, enabling them to maximise the benefits expected from their investment. Responsibilities Installation and commissioning of AM systems Providing of training and support for customer AM machine operators, both on site and remotely Scheduled service and maintenance for the Renishaw AM product line. This will include maintenance of and upgrades to electronic, mechanical, software and optical assemblies. Customer repairs call out, on site diagnostics, fault finding and calibration services. Product testing, performance measurement, data collection and report writing. Customer relationship management Service visits to be carried out in a timely manner in line with company expectations. Ensure expenses and timesheets are submitted on time. Always adhere to PPE requirements. Key requirements Previous Field Service engineering background, preferably with experience in the service, maintenance, repair, or assembly/manufacturing of AM, CNC, robotic/automation machines. A high-level diploma or degree in a technical discipline (mechanical, electrical or machine automation). Full UK driving license. Frequent travel to our UK base (Miskin, South Wales) for training requirements. Desirable requirements Experience in testing/calibration of mechanical, electrical, and optical systems. Experience of onsite installation, commissioning, and training. Ability to read, understand and translate mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic schematic and mechanical assembly drawings and instructions. Experience of working with high and low voltage circuitry. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in customer service and support. Person specification As the successful candidate for this post, you'll be someone who's self-motivated, with both written and verbal communication skills. You'll show a methodical and systematic approach to problem solving, with the ability to remain calm and confident in high pressure customer facing environments. You'll also be an organised planner that can demonstrate adaptability when unplanned events occur, whilst having a flexible demeanour with regards to regular travel and working in different locations. You'll be someone who will be able to perform physically demanding tasks, such as standing for extended periods of time and operating machinery.
