Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced CQC Compliance Manager to oversee regulatory compliance and quality assurance across our Leeds-based private hospital. This pivotal role ensures that our clinical services meet and exceed Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards, while also driving continuous improvement in patient care and safety.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in healthcare compliance, governance, and clinical leadership, with a passion for maintaining exceptional standards across all aspects of hospital operations. Experience in acute care, surgical settings, and patient services is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing review of compliance strategies to ensure full alignment with CQC regulations and national standards.
* Monitor and audit the delivery of care across departments to ensure it meets clinical governance, safety, and quality requirements.
* Oversee the creation, updating, and communication of policies and procedures related to compliance, safeguarding, infection control, and clinical risk.
* Collaborate closely with departmental leads to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective action plans.
* Prepare for and coordinate internal and external inspections, including mock CQC inspections, audits, and quality assessments.
* Manage incident reporting, complaints, and investigations, ensuring timely resolution and documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
* Facilitate training and support for clinical and administrative staff on CQC compliance, governance, and quality standards.
* Act as the lead point of contact for the CQC and other regulatory bodies, ensuring all required documentation and notifications are submitted accurately and on time.
* Produce regular reports and updates for the senior leadership team, highlighting compliance performance and areas of risk.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a healthcare compliance or clinical governance role, ideally within a hospital or acute care setting.
* In-depth knowledge of CQC standards, regulations, and inspection frameworks.
* Background in nursing, healthcare management, or clinical quality is strongly preferred.
* Strong understanding of patient safety, risk management, and safeguarding protocols.
* Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
* Experience conducting audits, managing inspections, and implementing quality improvement plans.
* Highly organised with a proactive, solution-focused mindset and excellent attention to detail.
