IT Infrastructure / Network Project Manager
Location
Richmond, VA.
High Level Project Overview
* Manage infrastructure projects ranging from thousands to millions, covering areas such as WAN / circuit connectivity for remote facilities, data center, building renovations, security architecture, network configuration and upgrades. Projects may include outside vendors and PM manages those contracts.
Qualifications
* Experienced managing major projects in large corporate or enterprise environments. Responsible for budgets of at least millions and teams of at least 15 people.
* Driver, not a passenger: Demonstrated owner with accountability for project success. Not a facilitator, coordinator, or project historian.
* Must have experience with waterfall / predictive methodologies.
* Accountable for managing budgets and resource plans.
* Skilled at developing project schedule and budget estimates, tracking them and reporting progress.
* Demonstrated understanding of project risk management.
* Experienced with process for selecting vendors through RFP, negotiating SOW and managing vendor performance.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills at all organization levels, including senior leadership.
* Experienced establishing and maintaining project governance plan including working with project sponsor, steering committee and stakeholders.
* Must be proficient with Microsoft Project. MS Project Online and SAP user experience are beneficial.
Top Required Skills
* Musthave prior IT Infrastructure Project Management experience handling large capital projects.
* Must have experience with waterfall / predictive methodologies.
* Experience establishing and maintaining project governance plans including working with project sponsors, steering committees and stakeholders.
* Experience with process for selecting vendors through RFP, negotiating SOW and managing vendor performance.
Soft Skills
* Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
* Ability to lead, collaborate, or work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams.
Nice to Have Skills
* Agile is nice-to-have but not required.
Education
* Minimum High school Diploma or Equivalency.
Required Years of Experience
* Minimum of 6 years of experience.
Certifications
* PMP certification – required.
* Six-sigma blue or black belts – preferred.
