Overview

Join to apply for the Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal role at IVC Evidensia

Salary up to £65,000 DOE plus up to £2,500 Relocation Allowance.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and supportive team at ICR Vets. This role offers a varied caseload covering consultations, surgery, and inpatient care, giving you the chance to develop and apply your skills across all areas of small animal practice. While the position is primarily based at our RCVS-accredited hospital in Loanhead, occasional work at one of our branch practices may be required. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated vet who thrives in a team environment and shares our commitment to delivering excellent patient and client care.

Flexibility that fits your lifestyle.

Ideally this is a full-time role, typically based on a four-day working week (40 hours). Our vets share responsibility for out-of-hours and weekend cover as we provide our own in-house emergency service. Flexibility is important to us, and we are open to discussing rota patterns that work for you and the team. For those with a particular interest in emergency and critical care, there is also the option to take on additional night work. Our focus is on finding the right person to complement our team, so we are happy to explore a working pattern that fits your lifestyle.

Find a place to excel.

Our Loanhead hospital is RCVS accredited and provides 24-hour inpatient and emergency care. We see a diverse caseload, from routine surgery and dentistry to advanced diagnostics and procedures. The hospital is well equipped with in-house blood analysers (including blood gas and coagulation), dental radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, and multi-parameter monitoring. We are proud to offer laparoscopic surgery as standard and provide training in this area for new team members. Across our group of four branches, we benefit from the expertise of certificate holders in ECC, internal medicine, surgery, dermatology, cardiology, behaviour, physiotherapy, and chronic pain, allowing us to deliver advanced services such as orthopaedics, BOAS surgery, and chemotherapy.

Responsibilities

* Provide high-quality medical and surgical care for small animals, including consultations, surgery, and inpatient care.
* Participate in the in-house emergency service and out-of-hours roster as needed.
* Collaborate with a team of specialists and certificate holders to deliver advanced services.

Why join ICR?

Our dedicated team is the heart of ICR Vets, and we pride ourselves on working together to provide the highest standards of care. We are a welcoming group made up of 21 vets and 22 RVNs across four sites, supported by experienced VCAs, receptionists, and admin staff. We value teamwork, professional growth, and looking after each other just as much as we value caring for our clients and patients. Alongside regular clinical meetings and CPD opportunities, we make time for wellbeing and social activities, including an annual Away Day for the whole team to come together, celebrate our successes, and strengthen our connections.
