About the role We are looking for a friendly, experienced and enthusiastic hotel Reception Shift Leader/Duty Manager to join our Front Office team. You must be natural leader and have thorough knowledge of the Opera system supporting our receptionists in running an efficient reception area, managing bookings, and ensuring a pleasant and warm experience for our guests. Responsibilities Ensure that all guests receive a warm welcome, and therefore a first impression which illustrates a professional and friendly manner while being always polite and courteous Co-operate with team members, including those from other departments to maximize the use of the hotel facilities Monitor any overbooking situation and that the correct decision is made, and then if a book out is necessary to ensure the correct procedure is followed Implement good reservation handling incorporating maximizing our occupancy and availability through upselling to increase Room sales and obtain best possible rates Overseeing the daily operations of the Front Office and maintaining it to the highest standards Through effective supervision ensure that all services offered in the reception are always available and are carried out with the utmost efficiency and courtesy as per the guidelines established Ensure the smooth and efficient operation and coordination of the reception team, leading by example and being the first point of contact for any issues in the hotel during Duty Manager shifts Shifts are based on 5 of 7 days and include early morning, late evenings, and weekends on a rota basis Salary & benefits Permanent full-time position (37.5 hours per week) Salary £29,907.42 per annum (£15.34 per hour) Duty Manager shift uplift per hour Meals on Duty Pension scheme with enhanced 6% Employer contributions Uniform laundry service Discount travel program in Danubius hotels including Friends & Family discount Incentive program for upselling Candidate requirements Essential : Exceptional leadership and management skills Excellent communication skills with good written and spoken English Experience using Opera system. Experience of at least 1 year in a similar role within a hotel environment Desirable : Hospitality qualification, for example BTEC or NVQ diploma Under the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996, evidence of eligibility to work and live in the UK will be required should you be invited to attend an interview.
