Senior Quantity Surveyor

I am currently recruiting on behalf of a leading Tier 1 contractor with a strong national presence and a substantial secured order book. Due to continued growth and project wins, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their commercial team.

The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take full commercial responsibility for projects from pre-construction through to final account. You will oversee multiple schemes or larger, more complex packages, while supporting and mentoring junior members of the commercial team.
This role offers a varied project portfolio and the opportunity to influence commercial strategy while working closely with operational leadership.
Key Responsibilities

Full commercial management of projects from procurement to final account
*
Preparation of cost plans, forecasts, and detailed monthly reporting
*
Subcontract procurement, negotiation, and contract administration
*
Management and agreement of variations and final accounts
*
Risk and opportunity identification and mitigation
*
Ensuring contractual compliance (NEC/JCT)
*
Supporting and mentoring Assistant and Project QSs
*
Contributing to commercial strategy and continuous improvement
Requirements
*
Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
*
Proven experience as a Senior QS or an experienced Project QS ready to step up
*
Background working for a main contractor (Tier 1 or Tier 2 preferred)
*
Experience in fit-out, modular construction, refurbishment, or defects projects advantageous
*
Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
*
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive project performance
