The Role:
We are looking for a Head of Data Transformation to join us on an 18 month contract to drive the transformation of data management at Nominet, this is critical work that will underpin AI innovation and new business value.
Working with our fractional Head of AI, you willestablisha central hub for innovation with data and AI, empowering users across the business to usegood quality, well governed data to improve their work.To make this shift, you will evolve Nominets Data Operating Model, improving governance and control to meet new regulatory commitments, while balancing the need to innovate with data.
You will implement a data quality management strategy to drive consistency and repeatability in our data, includingappropriate guardrailsand safeguards around our most sensitive data assets.
As a technology thought leader, you will have a passion for new and emerging data and AI technology. You will use this energy and enthusiasm toevangelisenew use cases and support others to do the same.You will work with the CTO and executive team on the wider data strategy and the importance this plays in the Nominet business.
Note this role is an 18 month FTC aligned to a pro-rata annualised salary, it will not be remunerated on a day-rate basis.
What You'll Be Doing:
1. Lead from the front as a partially hands-on subject matter expert
2. Build on our data platform (Databricks) to mature our data management practices.
3. Provide collaborative leadershipto evolve the data function acrossdata engineering, data product development, and in support of AI.
4. Collaborate with stakeholders and project managers to turn business goals into technical solutions
5. Work with our fractional Head of AI toestablishand document an AI development lifecycle from prototyping to production.
6. Coach and mentor our teams to build scalable data products and solutions across the business.
7. Inform and deliver product roadmaps to accelerate growth .
About You:
8. Expert experience with data and analytics
9. 7+ years of datamanagement/ data governanceexperience; 3+ yearsas asenior leader,ideallywithin asimilar industry
10. Mindset to explore and experiment with emerging AI technologies, includingnarrowerdata science andmachineleaninguse cases
11. An authentic, positive leadership style that can guide and motivate teams in the right direction with a bias towards action
12. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, flexing style to the audience with differing levels of technical understanding
13. Ability to manage differences of opinion to build consensus, while upholding a culture of inclusivity and respect
14. Enterprise architecture mindset and experience
15. Experience with data platforms and cloud platforms (Databricks and AWS preferred, but not essential).Excellent SQL skills.
16. Ability to align key stakeholders toward a common goal, drive results, andfacilitatechange
