Job Summary
Part‑time Peer Support Worker within the Service User Network (SUN) at Oxford Health NHS Trust, Buckinghamshire.
The role involves using lived experience of personality disorder or related difficulties to facilitate peer support groups in community settings, co‑facilitate sessions, provide support to new members, and promote recovery journeys.
The position is part‑time, 22.5 hours per week, based primarily at The Whiteleaf Centre, Aylesbury, with travel across multiple venues in Buckinghamshire.
Main Duties
* Use lived experience of personality disorder to inspire hope and provide empathy to service users.
* Co‑facilitate SUN peer support groups, empower members, encourage building support networks.
* Support engagement of new members or those considering SUN services through engagement calls.
* Reduce stigma by role‑modeling recovery journeys and challenging discrimination with compassion.
Qualifications & Experience
* Established knowledge of mental health conditions, especially personality disorders.
* Personal experience that enables specialist support within SUN groups.
* Previous or current experience working in peer support or similar roles.
* Experience working in group settings.
* Clear understanding of own story or experiences with personality disorder and ability to apply them to supporting SUN users.
Travel & Working Conditions
The primary base is The Whiteleaf Centre, Aylesbury. Expectation to travel independently between venues within the Trust; independent travel skills required.
Salary & Hours
Salary £28,392 to £31,157 per annum (pro‑rata). Hours Part‑time, 22.5 hours per week.
