Overview
Three Counties Veterinary Emergencies, based at Coombefield Veterinary Hospital, Axminster
Role: Weekend Day OOH Vet
20 hours - 1 in 7 weekends. 7:30am - 6:30pm on Saturday and Sunday, plus 1 bank holiday per year. We can be flexible to the frequency of weekends worked. 22 hours per weekend. Holiday entitlement is paid as it accrues, as it is deemed that holiday will not be taken from shifts.
Join our friendly team. This new role will add to our existing weekend day team, which consists of a vet, a nurse and an ANA Saturday and Sunday, plus a Saturday morning vet. This role involves taking handover from the night team who finish at 8am, followed by a mixture of consultations and procedures presented during the weekend. The two weekend day veterinary surgeons will together be responsible for the in-patients along with any patients that present, carrying out investigations or surgery as necessary.
We have excellent facilities including 2 operating theatres, a dental room, imaging suite, in-house lab with EPOC machine, cattery, kennels, isolation unit and pharmacy.
We are expecting this role to appeal to vets who would like to add some OOH on top of an existing role, who are missing the excitement of emergency work, without the need for sole charge, on-call shifts or night work.
