Physics Teacher (Secondary)

Location: Watford, Hertfordshire
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Start date: September 2026
Salary: £34,398 – £52,490 (M1–U3, in line with teacher pay scales)
Are you currently completing your teacher training or looking for your next teaching role in a supportive and high-performing school? Teach Now is working in partnership with a successful, over-subscribed secondary Academy in Watford to appoint a dedicated Physics Teacher from September 2026.

This role is open to Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers who are eager to join a well-structured and nurturing environment. The Academy has been consistently rated “Good” by Ofsted since 2012, with its most recent inspection in November 2024, and offers modern, state-of-the-art facilities that create an excellent setting for teaching and learning.

About the Role

As a Physics Teacher, you will:

• Teach Physics across Key Stages 3 and 4

• Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that inspire curiosity and scientific thinking

• Be supported by a collaborative team of experienced Science colleagues

• Assess and monitor student progress with guidance from your department

• Contribute to the development of the Science curriculum and wider school life

• This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative Science department that prioritises professional development and high standards.

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds (or will hold) Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) by September 2026

• Has strong subject knowledge in Physics

• Demonstrates enthusiasm, resilience, and a commitment to inclusive education

• Has high expectations of students and a reflective approach to professional development

• Is keen to contribute positively to a supportive and ambitious school community

Salary will be determined based on experience and position on the Main Pay Range. The maximum salary of £52,490 is applicable to candidates with substantial teaching experience equivalent to U3.
