Overview
Children's Occupational Therapist B5 (East) role at Buy A Boat Now. The East locality includes Exeter, Exmouth and Mid Devon countryside. The post is based within the multidisciplinary Physical and Sensory Pathway and involves working closely with colleagues across other CFHD pathways. Opportunities for development and CPD are available.
We are looking for an Occupational Therapist Band 5 OT who can provide a good standard of assessment and intervention for the children and young people we work with. The service is part of a system-wide, integrated model designed to support children, young people and families in Devon.
Responsibilities
* Use a strength-based approach to ensure clinical effectiveness through evidence-based interventions, goal-based and collaborative practice with routine outcome measures.
* Provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment of a caseload within a designated geographical area, within own competence and capability.
* Deliver occupational therapy advice and interventions to children and young people experiencing difficulties with activities of daily living.
* Support the delivery of training to the wider workforce and to parents as part of a team.
* Participate in the provision of student placements as appropriate according to skills and experience.
* Promote and support participation of service users across the service.
* For some roles, be involved in statutory assessment and intervention for the local authority such as specialist equipment and environmental adaptations.
* For newly qualified practitioners: work under a designated supervisor, have a named mentor, work toward achieving competencies, access the trust preceptorship programme and aim to achieve autonomy by the end of the first year.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Occupational Therapist registered at Band 5 (East locality).
* Ability to provide good standard of assessment and intervention for children and young people.
* Willingness to participate in CPD and professional development opportunities.
* Experience or interest in working within multidisciplinary teams and with families.
* Ability to work within a designated geographical area and collaborate with colleagues across pathways.
