Job Description
We have partnered with a global IT consultancy on a high-priority OpenShift platform upgrade and are looking for a Security Cleared (SC) OpenShift Platform Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead technical assurance, validation, and migration activities for a new OpenShift 4.18 environment.
This is a contract position (inside IR35) and SC clearance is required (or you must be eligible and willing to go through vetting).
Project Overview:
You'll support the migration of critical workloads from OpenShift 4.14 to a clean-slate 4.18 build. This includes validating core components, migrating applications and operators, and ensuring platform stability for essential business operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Build and validate OpenShift 4.x clusters from scratch
* Migrate apps, infrastructure components, and OpenShift operators
* Validate platform configurations, installation scripts, and services
* Work closely with CI/CD tools, IaC, and GitOps methodologies
Technical Skills Required
* Strong OpenShift & Kubernetes experience (v4.x preferred)
* Comfortable with enterprise OpenShift setup and tuning
* Familiar with key operators: Vault, Quay, Clair, Keycloak, Istio
* Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible)
* CI/CD tools: Jenkins, ArgoCD, Tekton
* Scripting in Bash or Python
Desirable Certifications
* Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift
* Kubernetes CKA
* Red Hat Certified Application Developer
Additional Info:
* Remote-first (some travel to Lincoln or Newcastle if needed)
