Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to work with the Energy Team on the SSE ASTI Framework. Our business is known for in-house expertise, innovation within the industry and delivering value to customers. We support transmission and distribution projects in four countries to ensure energy security for decades to come. We offer services including design, construction and commissioning, and deliver Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) projects for regulated and private customers, alongside technical and engineering solutions in conventional power and energy transition markets. We strive to innovate and maintain strong relationships with major energy providers in multiple countries.
A day in the life of a Murphy Senior Project Manager:
* Be fully accountable for the delivery of projects, ensuring safety, on-time completion, contract alignment and budget adherence.
* Set the overall standard on projects/contracts.
* Identify and deliver project requirements.
* Identify issues and resolve them in a controlled and timely manner.
* Ensure contract programmes are planned, reviewed and delivered.
* Line management of Site Managers, Assistant Site Managers and Section Managers.
* Maintain effective client relationships and provide updates to internal and external stakeholders on project progress.
* Ensure operating plans provide sufficient resources and materials.
* Resolve most operational issues with business-critical issues referred to the Project Director.
* Manage all commercial activities, including gross margin delivery, cost control and other key metrics.
* Oversee subcontractor performance in line with cost and margin requirements.
Qualifications and experience
* Experience delivering HV Transmission & Distribution or Major Civils projects.
* Experience in a Senior Project Managerial role.
* HNC / HND or NVQ Level 5 (or Degree).
* Experience on complex multi-discipline Enhancement projects, delivering within programme and cost controls.
