About the School

The young person's profile will be one of emotionally based school avoidance who is finding it difficult to attend school. The APR is for students who will be aged 11-16.

Our aim is to provide a physical and emotionally safe provision for our pupils, so that they feel able to improve their attendance from their previous setting(s). Our therapeutic led ARP will deliver an individualised offer for each pupil in a way that addresses individual barriers to learning so that pupils achieve well. Our ARP will provide a supportive environment underpinned by strong and respectful relationships between pupils, staff, and their families.

General Roles and Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for the day to day running of the ARP and accountable for the safeguarding, progress and wellbeing of all pupils and colleagues in the provision.

You will have QTS and DSL Level 3 safeguarding and a good understanding of contextual safeguarding. You will have excellent working knowledge of the SEND code of practice and a strong understanding of legislation, along with knowledge of the national curriculum at Key Stage 3 and 4 with evidence based strategies to support learners with EBSA, Anxiety and Autism. EMAT is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). References will be taken up before interviews are offered.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, or age.

EMAT encourage a "Speak Up" culture where colleagues are encouraged to raise any concerns relating to risk or wrongdoing. About Prince William School

Prince William School

Herne Road, Oundle

Northamptonshire

PE8 4BS

United Kingdom

Thank you for visiting our profile and I'm delighted to welcome you to Prince William School, part of the East Midlands Academy Trust community of schools.

The EMAT vision is "every child deserves to be the best they can be" and we wholeheartedly believe in this vision of providing the best education for each and every one of our young people.

Our curriculum is well-sequenced, aspirational for all and has excellent teaching and behaviour at its foundation. We ensure that we develop the character in our young people to make the right decisions, at the right time, for the right reason, even when no one is watching.

At both GCSE and A level, our outcomes are very strong, and Ofsted recognise that our school is a "calm and friendly place" where our students "enjoy school, feel safe and are happy" and "respect staff".

Our commitment to a wider curriculum goes beyond the classroom and we have an excellent range of leadership and enrichment opportunities for all students at all ages that stretch their social and emotional skills. The careers provision at Prince Williams School is exceptional; it is tailored to each individual student with a one-to-one meeting with our dedicated career adviser in Key Stage 3 and in Key Stage 4. The RSE curriculum allows our students to express their thoughts on a range of challenging topics and encourages them to develop their oracy and articulation skills to become confident in expressing themselves verbally.

We are fully committed to safeguarding our young people and all decisions are made with a lens of safeguarding their wellbeing. We are an inclusive school and our behaviour system is simple and straightforward for all to understand, allowing teachers to focus on the quality of teaching and deliver excellent learning opportunities.

I am incredibly proud to be the headteacher of PWS and, with an open-door culture, welcome any questions or queries. As a community, we will work collaboratively to find solutions and overcome any barriers that any of our young people have to fulfilling their incredible potential.
