Join to apply for the Hospital Optometrist role at NHS Scotland.
The role is based at Borders Eye Centre, Borders General Hospital. We offer two full days of optometry time and options for either a permanent position or a one-year contract. The arrangement could be one post covering two days or two separate posts for one day each.
Role details
We are looking for an enthusiastic and clinically focused Optometrist to join the team at the Borders Eye Centre.
Band 7 or Band 7 (Annex 21) dependant on experience.
Role responsibilities
The successful candidate(s) will work within the Eye Centre, delivering core hospital optometry services including:
* Paediatric assessments
* Subspecialty clinics – glaucoma, medical retina
* General acute services
Training and support will be provided in areas of interest to develop clinical skills and confidence. There are opportunities to contribute to other professional groups and to support students within the department.
Candidate requirements
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in optometry
* Current registration with the General Optical Council (GOC)
